The pioneer project - Burani WaterKiosk®

The pilot project of a solar-powered water treatment plant in Burani shows how it works. Since its inauguration on August 24, 2019, by our partner, Boreal Light GmbH, the plant has been providing multiple benefits to the approximately 6000 residents.

In addition to treating over 10,000 liters of clean drinking water per day, the water kiosk also produces irrigation and fish farming water to ensure the operation of the small aquaponics facility with fish farming and fruit and vegetable cultivation in so-called vertical agriculture. In addition, public facilities such as a school can still be supplied with electricity and small electrical appliances can be charged.
