Water supply in the Desert - Bubisa WaterKiosk®

The name Bubisa means “windy place.” Bubisa is a harsh, desert

environment in northern Kenya, where scarce resources like water are

critical for survival for the people and their livestock, upon which they

depend. The community uses water pans for both their domestic use and

livestock. During the dry season, they migrate in search of pasture and

water.

Bubisa WaterKiosk produces 100,000 liters of fresh drinking water in a

day, powered by solar array. The water is then distributed from a high

rise tank to ten different access points for the community to access fresh

hygiene water at their comfort throughout the year
